In the 1920s, the world was shocked by the exploits of the suave gangster Pretty Boy Floyd. And while the law sneered and the ladies cheered, Floyd himself is probably grinning in his grave to know that four young rebels from Hollywood, CA are going to keep his name as well as the spirit of rock n roll etched in the hearts and the minds of society. Like the gun wielding bad boy of yesteryear these "Rock N Roll Outlaws" are going to be wanted everywhere, but you'll find their posters at more places than the post office.

After performing just nine standing room only shows Pretty Boy Floyd was signed to MCA Records. At their first label show people flew in from all over the world to check out this new sensation known as Pretty Boy Floyd.

Once Pretty Boy Floyd had conquered Hollywood it was time to set their sights on the rest of the world. Under the direction of producer Howard Benson, the band set off to Philadelphia, PA to record their debut offering titled "Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz."

Wit the release of the first single and video for "Rock N Roll Is Gonna Set The Night On Fire" followed by the ballad "I Wanna Be With You" Everything seemed on the up and up for one of the fastest rising bands in music history. But then again it was 1989 and this was the last great record of an era that was soon overtaken by the "Seattle Sound." Although Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz did garner some success with the help of MTV and the radio pushing sales over the 250,000 mark.

Breaking up in 1991 and being released from their label MCA after the firing of their A&R man the members went their separate ways leaving Pretty Boy Floyd the band with probably the largest underground/cult glam following in the world wanting more.

The band reunited in 1998 playing several sold out shows mostly just for fun but after seeing and tasting the appreciation from the fans decided it wasn't time to go away recording the E.P. "A Tale Of Sex, Designer Drugs And The Death Of Rock N Roll" releasing it themselves. Shortly thereafter signing a record deal to Cleopatra Records and recording and then releasing "Pornstars" in the year 2000 all the while playing several shows as well as a tour with Slaughter, LA Guns, Enuff Z' Nuff and The Bulletboys.

After a short break again Pretty Boy Floyd was back this time returning to Japan for the first time since the release of "Leather Boyz With Electric Toyz" with 3 sold out shows in Tokyo in the summer of 2001. After returning to the States the Boyz recorded their first ever live CD entitled "Live At The Pretty Ugly Club" The club founded by Faster Pussycat front man Taime Downe. After the release of this live offering on Perris Records Pretty Boy Floyd was once again on the road touring the UK with seven sold out performances with good friends Faster Pussycat this was February of 2002.

After returning home Pretty Boy Floyd was asked to perform on the side stage of Poison's Hollywierd Summer Tour as well as doing several dates on their own even playing two times a day after performing their set on the side stage the band would drive a couple of hundred miles to perform a headlining set later that evening talk about wanting to get the music out. Immediately after the band finished the last show on this tour they boarded a flight for Japan once again this time performing 5 sold out shows even 3 nights in a row at the same venue.

Then once returning home the band was out on tour again with Faster Pussycat for another 10 dates on the West Coast of the US as well as Canada. All in all Pretty Boy Floyd performed well over 100 shows in the year of 2002 all the while compiling material for their next CD in which they are in the studio "as we speak" says Steve Summers. The band however has to take a small break in the recording as they return to the UK and Italy in the month of February 2003 then will return to the States to finish the record that is scheduled to be released in the spring/summer of 2003. Look for the band to continue their strong work ethic and tour the world in support of this new release "we have some offers for some pretty big tours this summer" says Steve Summers "So keep your fingers crossed."

So as you can see Pretty Boy Floyd the gangster might of dissappeared in the 1920s for good but this group that takes his namesake isn't going to die anytime soon.
